Nippon DEX, Corp. (later renamed Murata Data Equipment Co., Ltd.) established to engage in the facsimile business.


"dex180" became the first machine to be certified by Nippon Telegraph & Telephone Public Corporation (currently NTT)


May 1981

Developed and introduced the proprietary F-300 Series digital facsimile machines.


Established Murata Business Systems, Inc. (currently Muratec America, Inc.) in Dallas, Texas, U.S.A.


Introduced the "M-1" facsimile machine, the first in the industry costing less than 100,000 yen. This model was a huge success.


Oita Factory (Oita Murata, LTD.), a factory exclusively for the manufacture of facsimile machines, started operations.


Announced the development of "V-60", the first model in the cut sheet PPF V-Series.

May 1994

Started outsourced manufacturing of facsimile machines in Shenzhen, China.


Muratec Sales, Inc. (domestic sales and service) started operations.


Established the Middle East Office in Dubai (liaison office).


Obtained ISO9001:2000 certification for Oita Murata, Ltd.


Obtained ISO9001:2000 certification for the Communication Equipment Division.


Obtained ISO9001:2000 certification for China Factory (the outsourced manufacturing).

Aug. 2005

The sale of NGP(Network Gateway Platform) series MFPs based on a new concept of increased networking compatibility started in North America.

Jan. 2006

Muratec Europe GmbH was established in Dusseldorf, Germany.

Apr. 2006

Muratec (Beijing) Co., Ltd. was established in Beijing, China.

Apr. 2006

The New MFX series MFX-2850/MFX-2350, digital MFPs with color scanner, is developed.

Apr. 2007

The 1st Muratec A3 printer model, MFX-2200/2700, is developed.

Dec. 2008

Developed the compact color MFP, MFX-C3400.

Mar. 2009

Developed the new communication gateway tool GriDRIVE, which realizes the secure information sharing among multiple remote locations.

Apr. 2011

Muratec Europe GmbH was merged into Murata Machinery Europe GmbH.

Feb. 2012

Muratec (Beijing) Co. Ltd. was merged into Murata Machinery (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.
