| 1935 | The Nishijin Jacquard Mfg. partnership was established in Kyoto. |

| 1945 | Company was renamed the Murata Textile Machine Co., Ltd. and initiated enterprise activities. |
| 1961 | Developed turret lathes and began production. Machine Tools Division was established.  |
| 1962 | The company adopted its present name, Murata Machinery, Ltd. |
| 1970 | Murata Warner Swasey Co., Ltd., (MWS) a joint venture with the Warner & Swasey Co., U.S.A. was established and began manufacture of automatic lathes and NC turret punch press. |
