Special Interview with Mr. Gagan Khanna,

It is known widely that India is one of the largest cotton material and cotton yarn producing countries in the world. It is also known for its large scale production in the man-made fiber spun yarn field. Nowadays, with the help of new technology, the movement to win the race of "market securing" is becoming ever so rapid.
This new spinning technology which was developed in the 1980's, is called "Air Jet Spinning", and is already well known in the textile industry. Although this technology to spin is well known, the functions and characters this spun yarn has is surprisingly unkown, much less known in the downstream of the textile industry in India. By representing the technical functions and character as new technology, new products are now taking over.
This time we have interviewed with Mr. Gagan Khanna, Managing Director of Arisdana Spinning. Arisdana Spinning is the user of the Murata Jet Spinner, and has just entered the challenge in the single yarn market.

Is there any special concerning point to promote Jet Spun Yarn to the Market ? |
Mr. Gagan Khanna
Yes, Arisudana already has established its image as the path finder. Since hairiness and pilling are the main concerns of the down stream process, the company took the initiative to promote Jet Spun yarn amongst quality conscious customers.
We are regularly interacting with our esteemed customers, process houses, and are also exploring the end uses where inherent advantages of the air jet spun yarn can be utilised further.

How are you going to respond to tough competition start from 2005 ? |
Mr. Gagan Khanna
Keeping in view the competition from 2005 onwards, the company has already started establishing world class manufacturing and auxiliary facilities besides training the work forces to produce high quality, value added yarn to cater to discerning customers. In this way, the company is on its way to creating a niche for itself.

How do you evaluate Murata Jet Spinner for your use ? |

Since we are new in this field, it is a little premature comment but still we feel certain that properly explored and if awareness is spread amongst end users, this could be the technology of the future.

Do you have any request to Muratec ? |
Mr. Gagan Khanna
Being a new technology an active support from Muratec is essential in manufacturing as well marketing the product. More & more Muratec, technocrat experts are needed for interaction and discussions on the subject. Also, crucial spares and services need to be made available whenever needed. |

Arisudana Spinning Mills Limited was established in 1992. Today the company has approx. 25,000 Ring Spindles, 8,000 Ring Doubling and 1,000 TFO spindles.
Besides that, the company has recently installed 720 Jet positions of Murata Air-jet spinner. It is the first of its kind in India, and caters exclusively to the branded knitters/weavers with low pilling, low hairiness, high quality yarn.
At present the company is producing 6 millions kgs. of yarn per S S annum ranging from 20 NE to 80 NE.
However, the comapany is not exporting yarn directly but have identified knitters of standard, who in turn are supplying garments to all International Brands.
