| What’s the market situation in South Korea now? |
Mr. Kim
In the first half of this year, many textile companies were able to make a profit.
However, it will be difficult to achieve similar profits in the second half, and results will likely be in line with those of the past several years.
A major reason for these profits was the increase in domestic demand as a result of government fiscal stimulus measures in China.
Another reason for these profits was due to restrictions that were placed on exports of cotton yarn and raw cotton in India and Pakistan, increasing the price of yarn.
This resulted in yarn produced with raw cotton purchased at lower prices being sold for more.
However, going forward, yarn manufacturers will have to use raw cotton purchased at high prices, so we cannot expect to see any large profits. |
| Why does your company use our machinery? |
Mr. Kim
Since its foundation, our company has used Muratec equipment, and has no equipment from any other company.
The reason is very simple. First and foremost they offer superior performance. In particular, the Link Coner is linked directly to the spinning machine, so the automatic winder must have superior performance, and must be able to be used continuously without trouble.
In addition, the after-sales service is excellent.
That’s because you respond quickly if there is a problem with one of the machines, are highly capable of solving problems, and above all, take care to understand the customer’s opinions.
If the situation demands, Muratec can use their abundant know-how and experience to even take care of machine trouble that occurs in other processes.
This peace of mind enables us to trust Muratec, and leads us to continue using your products.

|
| Why did you choose the Link Coner type in particular? |
Mr. Kim
In recent years, it has been difficult to hire workers, so we cannot avoid reducing headcount through automation.
In addition, there are demands for us to cut payroll expenses, reduce costs, and improve our international competitiveness. |
| What are your expectations for Murata Machinery going forward? |
Mr. Kim
Build an even deeper understanding of your customer’s opinions, and create even higher-performance machinery.
I’d like you to develop competitively-priced machinery.
In addition, I’d ask that you continue providing excellent after-sales service (both sales and technical service), conduct further research and development, and become the No. 1 company in the world for customer satisfaction. |
| Going forward, what are you company’s goals? |
Mr. Kim
Going forward, we are considering whether to purchase even more equipment. Other major companies are also continuing to invest in additional equipment and they plan to add even more, so even though competition will intensify, we cannot stop adding equipment.
We can only move forward.
However, we cannot pursue only greater scale.
We will succeed or fail based on the quality of our products and our profitability.
Those profits will be invested in additional equipment.
