30th Anniversary of Mach Splicer - Pioneer of the New Age of Spinning -

Mach Splicer development

In October 1979, Murata Machinery, Ltd. introduced No.7-II Automatic Winder with Mach Splicer at ITMA'79, the 8th International Exhibition of Textile Machinery, held in Hanover, Germany. This was the world's first automatic winder equipped with an air splicer for cotton.

By using compressed air, Mach Splicer splices a yarn without knots. With the launch of Mach Splicer, the world's textile industry entered the age of "knotless yarn."

The quality improvement in spun yarn having no knots also improved the productivity in spinning processes, by making it possible to make spinning machines longer (= incleases spindles) and faster and to wind larger packages by using an automatic winder.
Furthermore, the knotless yarn also reduced the problems in the knitting and weaving processes that had been caused by knots, such as machine interruption, frayed fabric and fabric having holes. It helped improve the quality of woven and knitted fabrics as well as increasing productivity by making knitting and weaving machines faster and more efficient.

The knotless yarn spun with Mach Splicer has contributed to the evolution of many textile machines and significantly impacted the entire textile industry including product distribution.

It has been 30 years since Mach Splicer was invented, which opened up a new era in the textile industry. Even though air splicers are commonplace today, Muratec is continuing its efforts on research and development of splicing technologies.

Cassette replacement

While continuing to focus on the basic concept since inception of user-friendly design, such as maintenance-free operation and cassette replacement, we have been making improvements to the control technologies that are reliable and optimal as well as being eco-friendly and offer improved productivity.
Muratec offers a wide variety of splicers that are suitable for different types of yarns such as cotton, wool, linen and CSY.
