Textile Machinery
- The origins of Muratec, and our growth in partnership with our customers
The origins of Murata Machinery and Muratec Group can be found in manufacturing of "jacquard" machine to produce a type of high-quality silk known as "Nishijin brocade" in Japan's historic city of Kyoto.
Since its beginnings as a manufacturer of jacquard machine in 1935, the company may have shifted its emphasis to automatic winders and spinning machines, but we have maintained an unbroken history of manufacturing textile machinery.
Through our partnerships with the textile manufacturers who are our customers, we have developed numerous proprietary technologies, primarily in the field of automation, and have provided these original products to the world.
In particular, the development of the Mach Splicer, a device mounted on automatic winders that uses air pressure to create knotless yarn, has forever changed the textile industry by improving yarn quality and thereby contributing to improved quality in textiles and knitted products.
In addition, it has enabled the increase of the production capacity of spinning machines in the upstream process, as well as increased the efficiency and speed of the weaving and knitting machines in the downstream processes.
Furthermore, through the development of various types of automated transportation systems, the world's fastest spinning system, and many other technologies, Murata Machinery has won the support of customers from around the world for our textile machinery business.
Murata Machinery is now highly regarded as one of the leading companies in textile machinery.

VORTEX Spinning Machine
Muratec was the first in the world to succeed in putting the VORTEX® spinning technology into practical use.
By using this unique spinning technology that utilizes vortexes of compressed air, a single machine carries out all three spinning processes of roving, spinning and winding to produce "VORTEX® yarns that have various functional uses. Many value-added or differentiated products have been developed all over the world by using VORTEX® yarns. Muratec's technology has contributed to successfully developing new markets for spinning companies and apparel manufacturers. |

Automatic Winder
An automatic winder is used at the final stage of spinning. It helps maintain the yarn quality by removing defects and re-splicing the yarn.
Muratec has successfully developed many revolutionary technologies, including the world's first knotless splicing system, Mach Splicer, as well as Link Coner that can be directly connected to a spinning machine, which has helped promote automation in spinning.
Muratec has the world's biggest share as a leading manufacturer of automatic winders. |

Assembly Winder / Two-for-One Twister
Assembled yarns and twisted yarns are processed by assembling multiple numbers of yarns and twisting them, which adds various functional uses and characteristics to the yarns such as added texture and improved thermal insulation as well as enhanced strength and water repellency.
Muratec's twisters are highly efficient two-for-one twisters that twist a yarn twice while a spindle makes one full revolution. Our delivery record of more than 5 million spindles, is the largest share in the world, and proves the trust of our customers in our twisters. |

Twister for Industrial Yarn
Twisted yarns have a variety of functional uses and characteristics such as enhanced convergence and strength as well as improved weavability.
The use of twisted yarns is not limited to fashionable clothing. They are also used for industrial purposes including interior textile, automobile, medical and building material industries. The possibilities for the industrial use of twisted yarns are expanding.
Muratec has developed many types of twisters for industrial yarns, such as for the production of tire cords and carpets, and they are sold worldwide. |
