Murata Machinery, Ltd. (Kyoto, JAPAN) announces that, on August 7th, Muratec Automation Co., Ltd.(http://www.muratec.net/mac/) has just begun business to manufacture and sell storage, transportation and handling systems (AMHS) for the semiconductor and flat panel display (FPD) industries.

Muratec Automation Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Murata Machinery, Ltd., has obtained current business specialized for AMHS products for clean room environment from Murata Machinery, Ltd. and Asyst Technologies Japan, Inc. The new company continues to provide products and related services originally designed and manufactured by both Murata Machinery, Ltd. and Asyst Technologies Japan Inc.

By combining the two companies’ engineering and manufacturing capabilities with their sound expertise, Muratec Automation Co., Ltd., concentrates on its own strength as the world’s leading supplier of AMHS for the semiconductor and FPD industries.
