Murata Machinery Europe GmbH, Dusseldorf, Germany (wholly owned subsidiary of Murata Machinery, Ltd.), begins operations of its new office Dresden Branch on September 10th, 2007. Dresden branch is a marketing and service base of the Logistics & Automation business, handling automated material handling systems for clean rooms aimed at the semiconductor and FPD industry.

Dresden, located in Sachsen in the southeast of Germany, is home to approximately 200 companies directly involved in semiconductor manufacturing and is one of the largest areas of semiconductor manufacturing in Europe. Major semiconductor-related corporations from Japan have already been expanding into Dresden.
The opening of the Dresden Branch is an attempt to provide customers with faster more close-knit support, to gather the latest industry news, and to create a marketing and sales base which will enhance the effectiveness of proposals offered by Muratec to its customers.
It is hoped that the combination of Muratec Automation Europe SARL (MAE), established in Grenoble, France in June 2006 and responsible for southern Europe, and the Dresden Branch, responsible for northern and central Europe, will contribute to the strengthening of the Muratec brand within Europe's semiconductor and FPD industry.
