Murata Machinery, Ltd., Kyoto, Japan, has consolidated two Taiwan Island based subsidiaries Murata Machinery Taiwan Co., Ltd. (Textile Machinery Division) and Murata Automated Systems Taiwan Co., Ltd (MAST, Logistics & Automation Division). As the new company, Murata Machinery Taiwan, Ltd. began its operations on July 1st, 2007. Formerly with MAST, Takao Watanabe assumed the helm as president, starting with 125 employees.

Integrating these two companies expands business and consolidates management with the aim of making more efficient use of both human resources and managerial resources. In particular, we expect this to strengthen our material procurement capabilities and have a large impact on acquiring technicians, service engineers and other personnel. As such, we will be implementing the following three measures:

1. Improving quality and speed regarding proposals to clients and equipment delivery. This will come from a strengthened ability to respond to design, installment and material procurement requirements.

2. Improving customer support, as the semi-conductor and FPD industries demand a support system that is in operation 365 days a year and 24 hours a day.

3. Strengthening of information gathering and proposal development in the semiconductor, FPD and textile industries for the purpose of facility planning based on Taiwan capital in mainland China and Southeast Asia.
